A Capitalist or Republican left to his own devises would have his own children, and or, his own grandmother, working in the factories.
A Socialist or Democrat left to his own devises would confiscate every last spare dime of your production, to distribute to the non productive.
The balance of these two philosophy's "in our American system" have worked well over the years, taking the best from both philosophy's, and in the process, creating the greatest nation on earth.
That is until now.
Over the past 30 years, whichever party has been in power, has tried to spend every last cent on their goals, in the hope that little would be left for the opposing party upon their return to power.
Through the miracle of massive debt, both philosophy's have now been taken to their modern day idealistic extremes.
Neither the democrats nor the republicans know how to extract us from the destructive debt path we now find ourselves on.
The Tea Party has sounded the alarm, but there is no evidence that they will tolerate spending cuts, when the cuts effect their families or their causes.
We are $15 trillion in debt or 100% of GDP, with $1.3 trillion deficits as far as the eye can see, projected debt by 2016 will be $23 trillion or, 135% of GDP. "Greek debt is currently 144% of GDP".
This does not take into account our $50 trillion in unfunded obligations, consumer debt levels at 125% of income, and that our states are broke.
Governing by debt creation is being taken out of the political equation.
It should be entertaining to watch the two parties fighting over the scraps of our economic decline.
